DEHRADUN, 20 Jan: Doon police arrested one more accused in fake registry scam case. Swarn Singh, son of Sohan Singh, accused in the case of transferring the land to someone else through gift deed on the basis of fake registry and forged documents has been arrested from Bareilly, in Uttar Pradesh. According to Kotwali Nagar police, a case under Sections 420,467, 468, 470, 120B IPC was registered in Kotwali Nagar police station by the complainant Sandeep Srivastava, Assistant Inspector General of Registration.
The accused in this case is Swaran Singh, resident of Manvapatti police station in Shishgarh (District Bareilly in UP). Swarn Singh had claimed vide some forged documents, that a land located at Rajendra Nagar, Kaulagarh Road had been purchased from its original owner Pyare Lal Kaul, son of Gopinath Kaul and resident of 525 Rajendra Nagar, Dehradun in 1989. This land was transferred to other people through gift deed. In reality, this land had never been purchased. In place of the original documents of the said land in the records of the registrar’s office, forged documents had been placed.
On the basis of the forged documents, a suit for ownership was filed in the court and the Municipal Corporation. During the investigation of the case registered and interrogation of the arrested accused, other important information related to the case was also obtained in relation to which further action is being taken, the police said.
