ROORKEE, 20 Jan: An inauguration ceremony of a two-day virtual conclave commenced on Saturday in the Civil Engineering Department of IIT Roorkee, by IIT Roorkee‘s official society of the Civil Engineering Department and the Civil Engineering Consortium(CEC), for civil engineering students. The event was sponsored by various civil engineering firms “SFC India” was the Gold Sponsor and “Edu Fabrica” and “Monarch Surveyors” as the Bronze Sponsors.
This virtual event was organised under the theme “Sculpturing Innovation” keeping in mind the idea of using cutting-edge technologies to advance the future of civil. In the said events more than 200 participants from 15 IITs like IIT Madras, IIT Patna, etc., will take part such as Case Study competition, Research Renaissance, Seek the Civil Geek, Design Different, Guest Lectures, etc.
The first day of the event was graced by Chief Guest Hari Mohan Gupta, CMD (designate) IRCON & Director Infrastructure, DFCC Ltd. The inauguration ceremony was also graced by Praveen Kumar, Head of the Civil Department, IIT Roorkee and professors of the department namely Satyendra Mittal, Kamal Jain, Satish Chandra, Gargi Singh and Rakesh Ranjan. Hari Mohan Gupta urged students to not just view what is visible to everyone but to see beyond, dream big and fly high. He talked about the importance of respecting people and also about his love for the institute. Praveen Kumar showed great support to the team and also appreciated them for pulling off an event on such a large scale.
