Letter to the Editor
Sir,
Please refer to the GP dated 29 Dec 2025. ‘World Looking at India with Great Expectations because of our Youth’ PM Sri N Modi on page 1 and ‘…..who disturbed Mussoorie Carnival’ and ‘Angel Chakma ….’ on page 10.
We would like to ask Modiji whether he expects our youth to bring to the notice of the world such infamy to our nation or fame by their start-ups and winning laurels in sports, fine arts, education and capabilities to head many world corporations? Unfortunately, the percentage of youth attracting world’s attention in Bhartiya intellect and expertise is very low compared to the ones who are being manipulated by vested interests towards rowdyism. Their road rage, display of murderous short tempers, their addictions, their ready indulgence in many a violent and anti-social activities and their being indoctrinated by rightist cults in our nation to harass and persecute hapless peace-loving minorities creates an atmosphere of hatred and division rather than harmony and amity. This social attitude is the concern of the hour. We need to change drastically being surrounded by enemies of our nation and to counter those who do not desire our Bharat to be the harbinger for peace and spiritual power of the world.
We feel that we ought to be known not merely by our financial and military powers, but more for our Vedas inspired Spiritual prowess too. So honourable PMji! Your appearing to join the oppressed on their festivals will not improve this fault in your governance. Get your entire ministry to openly support your ideals by reining in the elements who, taking advantage of your leniency, are ruining our social fabric by their misguided enthusiasm. Our PM is toiling to make us a world power to be recognised not merely for our financial and military powers but more for our spiritually peace loving prowess. Let our youth not disappoint him.
Yours etc.,
S Paul
