Paryavaran Prahari Samman awarded to social activists

Dehradun, 5 Oct: SPECS Dehradun, Grassroots Awareness and Technical Institute for Society (GATI), Him Foundation, Manthan Welfare Society, Kusum Kanta Foundation, Sunrise Academy, and Jyoti Swarnim Welfare Society jointly organized the Paryavaran Prahari Samman – 2024 at the Doon Library and Research Institute. The event aimed to honor social workers, municipal councillors, supervisors, and sanitation workers for their outstanding contributions in the field of environment and sanitation, encouraging them to be more sensitive toward their responsibilities.

The event commenced with a welcome address and an outline of the program presented by Vidushi Nishank. The honor was conferred by seven NGOs from Uttarakhand for exceptional work in environmental conservation. The Chief Guest at the event was Madhu Bhatt, Vice-Chairperson of the Literature, Culture, and Art Council, and the special guest was SK Sahu, Deputy Controller of Civil Defence.

During her address, Chief Guest Madhu Bhatt congratulated all the organizations involved in presenting the Paryavaran Prahari Samman and praised the event’s dignified organization. She commended all the individuals honored for their work in environmental conservation and expressed that their efforts were praiseworthy. She added that if today’s youth continue advancing in social welfare and environmental conservation, not only Uttarakhand but the entire nation could be guided in the right direction. She also shared insights about the council’s work.

Special Guest SK Sahu thanked the organizing institutions for this event and appreciated the honored environmental warriors for their efforts in protecting the environment. Dr Brijmohan Sharma extended his gratitude to all the environmental protectors, acknowledging their essential role in keeping cities and towns clean and healthy. He emphasized that the Paryavaran Prahari Samman is a token of gratitude from society to these individuals.

Among those honored were Anurag Sharma, Rajesh Shankar Bittu, Nandini Sharma, Sangeeta Gupta, Sunil Rana, Sudha Upadhyay, Tejpal, Mohit, Ajay, Mahesh Joshi, Deepak, Rishabh Rawat, and environmental friends Guddi Devi, Savita Balmiki, Raju Balmiki, Navraj, Sarita, Kavita, Shanno Devi, Monu, Vishal, Satish, along with students from six schools. Honored students included Harshdeep Singh and Vansh Mittal from Nanak Matta Public School, Snehi Agarwal from Little Scholar School, Kashipur, Manas Panwar from Bajaj Institute of Learning, Manpreet Kaur from Sunrise Academy, Rohini Maurya from Himjyoti School, and Jyoti Gautam, Anisha Sharma, Anjali, and Saloni Verma from Phool Chand Nari Shilp Mandir Girls Inter College.

Present at the event were Dr Brijmohan Sharma, Pooja Pokhriyal, Monika Mittal, Neeti Tomar, Mona Bali, Neeraj Uniyal, Ajay Bahuguna, Jyoti, Amit Pokhriyal, Vidushi Nishank, amongst others.
