Dehradun, 5 Jun: A meeting chaired by Additional Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande was held here today with the representatives of recognised national political parties to discuss the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on the conduct of the SIR campaign. Jogdande appealed to all the political parties to ensure one hundred per cent appointment of Booth Level Agents (BLAs) so that the exercise can be carried out effectively.
He informed them that Uttarakhand has 11,733 polling booths and against this number, political parties have so far appointed 22,823 Booth Level Agents. He emphasised that the cooperation of political parties is essential for the smooth conduct of the campaign and urged them to extend full support.
Among those present at the meeting were Joint Chief Electoral Officer Prakash Chandra Dumka, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Kishan Singh Negi and representatives of BJP, Congress, BSP and CPI (M).
