Dehradun, 28 Jul: To commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Jim Corbett, legendary author from Uttarakhand, a complete set of books by the author in Hindi were presented today to Anoop Bajpai, Editor, Amar Ujala by Upendra Arora, Owner, Natraj Publishers, Dehradun.
Bajpai expressed his grave concern at the growing reel and video culture among the youth and said that Amar Ujala has undertaken several initiatives to entice the younger generations back to books and reading. Artificial Intelligence and ChatGPT are no substitute to literature, newspapers and magazines, he added.
Amar Ujala is hosting a short story writing festival for class 1 to 12 students, as a step to encouraging children to write and think creatively.
Jim Corbett wrote six books which have been translated and are now available in Hindi. The books are celebrated bestsellers and sold all over the world. With the books now available in Hindi, more readers now have access to these all-time classics.
Jim Corbett was born on 25 July 1875 in Nainital. The Corbett National Park is named after him.
