Dehradun, 3 Aug: A meeting of the Antar Rashtriya Sahayog Parishad, Dehradun Chapter, featured detailed discussions on its activities, upcoming programmes, and various proposals. The meeting commenced with a two-minute silence observed in prayer for world peace. It was presided over by City President and former IG SS Kothiyal.
Avinash Manan, President of the Antar Rashtriya Sahayog Parishad, Gurugram (Haryana) Chapter, attended the event as the Guest of Honour. On this occasion, 12 new members were welcomed and inducted into the Council family. Former IG and President SS Kothiyal welcomed all office-bearers and members, providing an overview of the Council’s history, objectives, and achievements to date.
Speaking at the event, senior office-bearer Dayanand Chandola remarked that the work of the Parishad is not limited to the country alone but extends to foreign nations as well. It is actively fostering cooperation, brotherhood, and cultural exchange among people from diverse countries and regions.
Cultural performances added a vibrant touch to the event. Under the guidance of dance guru Sonal Verma, Vaibhavi Mudgal captivated the audience with a stunning classical dance performance, earning thunderous applause.
Parishad Patron Dr S Farooq won everyone’s hearts with a poetic presentation. Vice President Dolly Dabral recited a soulful poem on women’s empowerment.
Public Relations Officer Yogesh Agarwal highlighted the remarkable contributions and social service of Dr KB Joshi, a renowned cardiologist from Uttarakhand. Subsequently, on behalf of the Parishad, Dr KB Joshi was honoured with the ‘Distinguished Citizen Award-2026’.
After receiving the award, Dr Joshi shared the story of his life’s struggles in a witty and engaging manner.
During the event, Dr Mukesh Goyal, President of the Dadhichi Daan Samiti, urged people to pledge eye, organ, and body donation after death. He stated that such donations could bring new light and hope into the lives of the needy.
Proposals regarding the Council’s upcoming tours were also invited during the meeting. Proposals for domestic destinations included Rishikesh and Kanda Tal, while proposals for international trips included Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and France.
Many office bearers and members were present at the event, including Rakesh Oberoi, Chandragupta Vikram, Ashok Windlass, Madhu Bairi, Dr DS Mann, Ashok Sharma, Secretary Deepak Gairola, JP Semwal, former Information Commissioner JP Mamgain, Arun Shekhar Bahuguna, Shakuntala Chandola, Namita Mamgain, Dhanpati Kothiyal, SK Tiwari, Ajit Tomar, RK Bakshi, Subhashini Dimri, Shalu Jain, Rohit Kochgve, and Kanchan Gunsola.
The event was conducted by Secretary Aadesh Gupta, while Vice President RP Bhatt expressed gratitude to all the guests, office bearers, and members.
