Dehradun, 15 Jul: In celebration of the Harela Festival 2025, a traditional Uttarakhand festival symbolising agricultural prosperity and environmental harmony, St Joseph’s Academy organised a Tree Plantation Drive here, today. resonating with the spirit of sustainability and green living.
The occasion was graced by the Principal of SJA, Bro Joseph M Joseph, who in his address reminded the students of their role as future stewards of the planet. He emphasised the need to protect natural heritage and congratulated the participants for becoming active contributors to environmental conservation.
Also present were Senior Coordinators Raman Sethi and Sheetal Bist, who commended the efforts of the students and highlighted the importance of integrating such eco-initiatives in everyday life.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of Classes 3, 4, 11, and 12, who planted a wide variety of saplings within the school campus. Their excitement and commitment to nurturing nature were evident in the care with which each sapling was planted and tagged.
The entire event was meticulously planned and coordinated by the Supervisor of SJA, Mr Rautela, whose dedication from arranging the saplings to guiding students during the plantation ensured the smooth execution of the drive. The plantation drive culminated with a pledge by all present to care for the newly planted trees and to spread awareness about the importance of afforestation. The vibrant energy of the Harela festival was beautifully reflected in this green initiative, making it a memorable and meaningful celebration.
