Strengthening healthcare facility in hills top priority: CM

Dhami reviews progress on implementation of announcements regarding 5 assembly segments

Dehradun, 7 Apr: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today reviewed the status of Chief Minister’s announcements pertaining to the Assembly constituencies of Tharali, Karnaprayag, Kedarnath, Rudraprayag and Devprayag at the Secretariat here. During the meeting, he directed the officials to accord top priority to strengthening healthcare facilities in the hills and to ensure expeditious redressal of public grievances

The CM emphasised that addressing public concerns remains the government’s foremost priority and directed the officials to maintain continuous coordination with the public representatives and resolve issues raised by them with seriousness and urgency. He stressed that problems highlighted by the MLAs related to their respective constituencies must be taken up on priority and resolved without unnecessary delay, particularly in cases where solutions are readily achievable. He also made it clear that accountability would be fixed for any unwarranted delays in execution of the works and directed that quality and timeliness in development projects must be ensured at all levels, with departments working in close coordination to deliver results.

During the meeting, the CM laid special emphasis on improving healthcare and education in mountainous regions and called upon the officials to make sustained efforts to enhance medical services in remote areas. He directed that the availability of heli-ambulance services be ensured in a timely manner and that steps be taken to further strengthen healthcare delivery in inaccessible regions.

He also instructed that proposals related to construction works, which require inter-departmental transfer, must be forwarded without delay and warned them that responsibility would be fixed in cases of undue delay.

During the review, Dhami ordered that issues raised by the MLAs in the meeting be addressed by the departmental secretaries concerned on a priority basis. He further ordered a separate review of pending cases related to Chief Minister’s announcements at the level of the Forest Department. Taking note of the approaching monsoon season, he instructed the Chief Secretary, Anand Bardhan, to convene a comprehensive review meeting to assess preparedness for monsoon-related challenges and to ensure that flood control measures are completed well in time before the monsoon.

With regard to the upcoming Char Dham Yatra, the CM directed the officials to complete all preparations in a time-bound manner. He also stated that periodic meetings be held with hotel associations to address issues related to commercial cylinders, directing them further to ensure that all necessary arrangements for the pilgrimage are strengthened.

Among those present at the meeting were Cabinet Minister Bharat Chaudhary, MLAs Anil Nautiyal (Karnaprayag), Bhupal Ram Tamta (Tharali), Asha Nautiyal (Kedarnath) and Vinod Kandari (Devprayag), along with senior officials including Principal Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretaries Shailesh Bagoli, Nitesh Jha, Dilip Jawalkar, Sachin Kurve, Ravinath Raman, SN Pandey, Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Dr R Rajesh Kumar and Dhiraj Garbyal. Heads of various departments and District Magistrates concerned also participated in the meeting through virtual mode.
