Dehradun, 29 April: Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal held a review meeting at the Vidhan Bhawan here today with officials of the Jal Nigam and Jal Sansthan to address concerns over drinking water supply in Narendranagar assembly constituency of Tehri district.

During the meeting, Uniyal observed that water shortages frequently occur during the summer season in his assembly constituency. He attributed the problem to ongoing construction of the All Weather Road in Narendranagar and the Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line, which have disrupted water availability in several villages. He directed the officials to ensure regular maintenance of drinking water sources and pipelines across the region.

The minister also instructed officials to coordinate with railway authorities for the release of funds to repair drinking water sources and urged immediate measures to resolve water-related issues. To streamline communication, he suggested forming a WhatsApp group comprising officials and village representatives. He stressed the importance of timely action to prevent public dissatisfaction due to water scarcity.

Among those who participated in the meeting included SDM, Narendranagar, Devendra Negi, SDM, Kirtinagar, Saumya, officials from the Drinking Water Corporation and Water Institute of Narendranagar, along with local representatives from Narendranagar assembly constituency.
