Team Gladiator wins at U’khand Preliminaries of CII’s 32nd Quality Circle Competition

RUDRAPUR, 10 Oct: Team Gladiator from Mahindra & Mahindra, Rudrapur, lifted the “Winners’ Trophy” in the 32nd QC Circle Preliminary Competition 2019 organised by Confederation of Indian Industr y, here, today. The preliminary competition was extended to Rudrapur in 2014 and is now a regular annual feature. The “First Runner up Trophy” was won by Team New Vision from Panasonic life solutions India Pvt Ltd, Haridwar, and Team Jyoti from Bharat Electronics Limited, Ghaziabad, lifted the “Second Runner Up Trophy”. Each team presented the theme based problem and its solutions. These teams will now participate in the Regional Final as a precursor to the National Competition. Over 100 workers from 12 Quality Circle teams participated in the Competition and shared their case studies on the specific projects handled by them at their work place. The assessment of the presentations was made on a weighted scale covering different aspects of the Quality Circle activity. The evaluation was based on factors like problem selection, analysis, solution, presentation, etc. The panel of judges comprised P Sundararajan, Head Quality, TATA Motors, Pantnagar; Kapil Kumar Bharti, Manager Quality, BHEL; and Vikram Singh Rana, Plant Head, Lucas TVS, Pantnagar. The Chief Guest at the occasion, Sanjay Singhal, Member CII & Plant Head, Titan Industries Ltd, Pantnagar, gave away the trophies to the winners. While addressing the audience he applauded the enthusiasm and passion displayed by all the participating teams and encouraged them to continue their concerted efforts to improve quality & productivity in the industry. He opined that the Quality Circle had emerged as a mechanism to develop and utilise the tremendous potential of people for improvement in product quality and productivity. He added that Confederation of Indian Industry provides a great platform to the industries by organising such competitions which motivated employees and promoted experience sharing and learning through best practices. As many as 12 Quality Circle teams from Bharat Electronics, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Nestle, Panasonic Life Solutions & Lifelong India participated in the competition.
