ROORKEE, 26 Apr: In an ongoing administrative campaign against unlawfully operating madrasas, authorities in Roorkee’s Bhagwanpur police station limits intensified their action once again, sealing three unauthorised madrasas across different villages. The operation, carried out under the leadership of SDM Bhagwanpur Jitendra Kumar, forms part of a wider effort to regulate unregistered religious institutions across the state.
The drive against illegally-run madrasas is being conducted systematically across Uttarakhand, with multiple such establishments previously sealed in Bhagwanpur region as part of the broader campaign.
Maintaining the momentum of enforcement, the administration sealed madrasas in Hallu Majra, Makhanpur, and Mohitpur villages. The administration has claimed that none of the three institutions adhered to prescribed operational standards, nor were they legally registered, warranting immediate action. Police personnel accompanied the administrative team during the sealing operation to ensure law and order.
