Time for high caution as 1560 fresh cases of Corona reported in U’khand

DEHRADUN, 8 Jan: In Uttarakhand, 1560 people have been detected as Corona infected in the past 24 hours. No deaths have been reported today due to Corona, but it is clear that Corona graph is rising rapidly in the state now and there should be hardly any doubt that the third wave of Corona pandemic has arrived in the state, and it is time to exercise high caution for everyone. Out of the total 1560 cases reported today in the state, 537 cases are reported from Dehradun district itself. The total number of infected has gone up to 3,49,472. The recovery rate of the state has come down by 96 percent to 95.05 percent. At the same time, on the basis of sample testing, the infection rate has reached 10.26 percent. Now the total number of active cases in the state has gone up to 3254. A total of 303 cases were reported in Haridwar in past 24 hours, 404 in Nainital, 24 in Pauri, 37 in Udham Singh Nagar, 13 in Bageshwar, 52 in Almora, 08 in Chamoli, 28 in Tehri, 46 in Champawat, 82 in Pithoragarh, six in Rudraprayag and 20 in Uttarkashi district. While 270 patients have defeated the infection in the past 24 hours. Corona cases are increasing rapidly in Dehradun district. Now the corona infection has started spreading in the institutions and the offices too. Ten employees in RTO office, ten students in FRI Deemed University and 10 patients in Coronation Hospital, seven girl students in Nursing College have been found to be corona infected. District Surveillance Officer Dr Rajiv Dixit has confirmed this. He stated that the investigation was done after the report of an employee in the RTO office came positive, in which the report of 10 has been found positive, 8 students in FRI Deemed, the report of two personnel has come positive. Some students in FRI were found infected on arrival from Haridwar. After that, the reports of others came positive on investigation. All have been directed to remain in home isolation. Instructions had been given to take extra precautions. 10 employees have also been found positive in the lab in Doon Hospital. The Covid investigation report of Cabinet Satpal Maharaj had come negative on Saturday. Now he is completely healthy and he will again work actively amongst the public. Maharaj said that recently, as a representative of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, he had gone to attend the meeting of the Chief Minister’s Council to be held under the chairmanship of BJP National President JP Nadda. On his return, when he got the corona test done, he was found positive. His corona test report however came negative after getting re-examined on Saturday. Meanwhile, eight cases of corona infection have been reported in the Srinagar region in the last 24 hours. These include two doctors from the medical college. Apart from this, a staff nurse and two girl students of ABBS have been found infected. A woman from Srinagar and two people from Kirtinagar have also been infected.
