Dehradun, 6 Aug: A ‘Transformative Parenting Workshop on Cyber Psychology and Cybercrime’ was held at St Joseph’s Academy here, today, in the school auditorium for the students and parents of classes VII-IX. Also present were Principal Brother Joseph; Community Leader Brother Astinus Kujur; guest resource persons; Professor D Rakesh Kriplani, Dr Nilesh Bharne, and Ankush Mishra; parents; coordinators and teachers, and students of classes VII-IX.

The event commenced with a prayer, setting a reflective tone for the day. Next, Akshat Gupta and Shrusti Bharne introduced the guest resource persons with welcome speeches, followed by Dr Nilesh Bharne’s welcome address and valuable insights regarding cyber-crime. The other experts engaged in an enlightening question-and-answer session with parents, addressing critical concerns about cyber psychology and the increasing threats of cybercrime. These discussions provided valuable insights into how students can safeguard themselves from cyber frauds related to Banks, Social-Media, Cryptocurrency, and the Dark Net. In turn, parents were directed to effectively guide and protect their children in the digital world.

Brother Joseph honoured the resource persons with mementos to express gratitude for their contribution to the interactive workshop. This was followed by his address to the parents in which he emphasised the importance of staying informed and proactive in safeguarding children online. He stressed the need for parental vigilance and continuous learning in the ever-evolving digital landscape.

The one-hour workshop was an effective reminder that while technology offers incredible benefits, it also requires mindful usage to ensure safety and security.
