Kasiga School hosts ‘Conference of Schools III – 2024’

Dehradun, 6 Aug: Kasiga School hosted the Conference of Schools III – 2024, welcoming, participants from 12 esteemed institutions. The Chief Guest at the event was Ramveer Tanwar, celebrated for his pioneering work in pond ecosystem restoration.

The panel of judges included Paramjeet Singh Kakkar, a luminary in waste management, and Dr Raman Kumar, a scientist dedicated to studying the impact of human activities on wildlife.

The conference commenced with an welcome address and a video presentation. Throughout the day, participants engaged in dynamic sessions addressing local climate concerns and innovative solutions to plastic pollution. The discussions, moderated and unmoderated caucuses, provided a platform for young minds to explore and present forward-thinking ideas, fostering a collaborative atmosphere enriched by insightful interactions with the esteemed guest and judges.

The event concluded with the recognition of outstanding delegates.

The Best Delegates were Avnish Chauhan, Doon International School, City Campus; and Arnav Sangal, Welham Boys’ School.

High Commendations went to Avnish Singh Chauhan, Doon International School, City Campus; and Advicaa, DIS Riverside School.

Those who received Special Mentions were Samridhi Bahuguna, The OASIS, Tanvi Bahuguna, Doon International School, City Campus. Those who received Honorable Mentions were Deepjyoti Negi and Samridhi Bahuguna; Yash Singh and Arnav Sangal, Welham Boys’ School.

Paramjeet Singh Kakkar, a trailblazer in waste management and founding member of PRAMUKH, brought over 25 years of expertise to the event. Dr Raman Kumar of the Nature Science Initiative captivated participants with his extensive research on the effects of human activities on wildlife and his dedication to citizen science programmes encouraging environmental stewardship.

The closing ceremony witnessed a musical presentation that resonated with the spirit of unity.
