U’khand is witnessing rapid development: Dhami

CM inaugurates/lays foundation of several projects worth 226 crore for Dehradun

Dehradun, 9 Mar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while participating in a programme organised at City Forest (near Sahastradhara Helipad) here today, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development projects worth about Rs 226 crore of Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA). These projects include laying foundation stone for projects worth Rs 186 crore and inauguration of projects worth Rs 40 crore.
These projects include the City Forest Project, Herbertpur Bus Stand, Arhat Bazaar Redevelopment Project, façade and beautification work of Mussoorie Mall Road, Eco Park Mussoorie, construction of a Waterfall in Maldevta area and its beautification, beautification work of Gaura Devi Park and construction of an artificial lake, water park landscaping work on the land of Johar near Government Inter College Mianwala, construction / landscaping / beautification of park on the land near Sugarcane Centre near Mianwala Panchayat Ghar. Landscaping/arboriculture work in ISBT premises is also part of these projects.
Speaking on this occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the foundation stone laying and inauguration of development projects worth more than Rs 226 crore of Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) will prove to be a milestone in the development here. Also, work will be done soon on various demands raised by public representatives. He said that the government has laid many foundation stones and inaugurated various programmes in the entire state.  The foundation stone of schemes worth Rs 2215 crore in Tanakpur, Rs 4700 crore in Haridwar, NHAI Rs 1168 crore in Haridwar, Rs 161 crore in Champawat, Rs 117 crore in Almora, Rs 828 crore in Pauri Garhwal and Rs 456 crore in Rudraprayag were laid and inaugurated. The state government has resolved that the schemes for which the foundation stone has been laid should also be inaugurated. The government is focusing on balanced development of every sector and added that the emphasis is on public satisfaction.
The CM said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, development is touching new heights. The country is developing rapidly and moving forward in every field. In every field – security, economic prosperity, respect for faith, livelihood, the world is seeing a new India and is praising India’s strength. Along with the development of the country, Uttarakhand has also developed rapidly. People’s perception towards Uttarakhand has changed. The double engine government is working at double speed. Employment opportunities for the youth in the state have increased rapidly, civic facilities have expanded and that the poor are getting the benefits of welfare schemes, and the respect for farmers is increasing.
Dhami said that a network of wide roads is being laid in the state, after Rishikesh, now a satellite centre of AIIMS is being constructed in Udham Singh Nagar. Delhi-Dehradun Elevated Expressway, Rishikesh Karnaprayag Rail Line are making rapid progress while the air services have expanded. Health services have become better than before. Air service from Dehradun to Ayodhya has started. Airports are being developed in Pantnagar, Chinyalisaur, Gauchar. The work of connecting every area of the state with heli service is also underway.
The Chief Minister said that action is being taken against those who were involved in rigging of competitive recruitment examination under the anti-copying law in the state, Uniform Civil Code has been implemented to give equal rights to women, action is being taken on war footing against land jihad and a strong anti-riot law has been implemented. Along with Kedarkhand, the work of beautification of temples under Manaskhand Temple Mala is also in progress.
Dhami said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had described third decade of the 21st century as the decade of Uttarakhand. In the same sequence, all-round development is being done in Devbhoomi, the work of making Uttarakhand self-reliant is continuing. The foundation of creating an efficient, capable and developed Uttarakhand is being strengthened. He said that the state government will live up to the aspirations and expectations of the Prime Minister in future also.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Prem Chand Aggarwal, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, Uttarakhand Minority Commission Chairman Dr RK Jain, VC MDDA Banshidhar Tiwari, and others were present.
