DEHRADUN, 15 Jul: UPNL is taking a new initiative by conducting an Entrepreneurship Development Workshop for welfare of Ex-Servicemen and their dependants from 15 to 19 July at the Secretariat of the Sainik Kalyan Department. UPNL provides employment/ re-employment opportunities to Ex-Servicemen and their wards, but due to shortage of vacancies it may not be possible to provide jobs to everyone. Besides, Servicemen live away from their families during service and after retirement, they want to stay at home and earn a livelihood by starting some business with their meager savings. The welcome address at the inauguration of the project was delivered, today, by Brig PPS Pahwa (Retd), MD, UPNL, and present were Col CM Nautiyal (Retd), Vice President, Sainik Kalyan Parishad, Maj Gen Rohit Kalia (Retd), Brig R Rawat (Retd), Brig YPS Gusain (Retd) of IESL, Brig KG Behl (Retd), Col GS Bisht (Retd), Brig KB Chand (Retd), Director, Sainik Kalyan & Punarwas Nideshalaya, and others.
