Dehradun, 28 Apr: Ecole Globale International Girls School resonated on Saturday to the mellifluous vocal and instrumental form of Indian classical music performed by The Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture amongst Youth. The event was hosted by the School in its Multi Purpose Hall.
The event featured ‘The Golden Voice of India’, Vidushi Meeta Pandit, acknowledged as the scion of the Gwalior Gharana of Hindustani Classical Music. Her melodious and robust voice, coupled with intricate handling of ragas, has won her critical acclaim, and a large following of music lovers. Accompanying her were Gyan Singh on tabla, Dinesh Bhatt on tanpura and Zamir Ahmed Khan on the harmonium. There was an ethereal aura in the hall as they told mesmerising stories to the students through their musical rendition.
Speaking on the occasion, Amarjeet Singh Juneja, President, EGIGS, lauded the efforts to keep Indian culture and music alive for the coming generations.
