Dehradun, 26 Nov: Sports Minister Rekha Arya today convened a meeting at the Sports Secretariat here regarding the upcoming National Games. The meeting was attended by officials of the Uttaranchal Olympic Association and the Sports Department. Several important topics related to the National Games were discussed during the meeting.
In response to reports about a potential change in the dates of the games, Minister Rekha Arya stated that such requests had come from some sports federations. She also mentioned the ongoing Winter Asian Games in China, in which several athletes are participating.
Given these circumstances, the matter will be discussed with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, and after that, a clear decision would be taken. Minister Arya mentioned that a meeting has been scheduled with the Chief Minister, at which the issue will be discussed in detail.
The meeting was attended by former MLA and President of the Uttaranchal Olympic Association Mahesh Negi, Secretary DK Singh, CEO Chetan Gurung, along with key sports officials including Sports Secretary Amit Sinha, Director of Sports Prashant Arya, Shakti Singh, Rajesh Mamgai, Sanjeev Pauri, and other officers from the Sports Department.
