Mussoorie, 2 Jul: On the occasion of National Doctors’ Day, the Golden Lioness Club Mussoorie Hills organised a felicitation ceremony at a hotel auditorium in Jhulaghar, here.

During the event, female doctors from the Sub-District Hospital (Civil Hospital), Mussoorie, were honoured for their remarkable contributions to society and healthcare services. The programme commenced with Club President Ambuj Agarwal welcoming the doctors by applying ‘tilak’ and lighting the ceremonial lamp. She remarked that doctors do not merely treat patients but also play a pivotal role in making society healthy and safe; it is the duty of every citizen to acknowledge and respect the selfless service rendered by doctors.

At the ceremony, Dr Bina Singh (Gynaecologist and Senior Medical Officer) and Dr Himani Payal (Medical Officer) were honoured with certificates of appreciation and mementos. On this occasion, both doctors provided detailed information to the women present regarding gynaecological health, regular health check-ups, nutrition, maternal health, and the importance of timely treatment. They urged women not to ignore any health issues and to seek timely medical advice.

President Ambuj Agarwal stated that the Golden Lioness Club regularly organises programmes focused on social service, women’s empowerment, health awareness, and public welfare, adding that similar initiatives for the benefit of women and the needy would continue in the future. The event was attended by Club Secretary Nishu Gupta, Vandana Virmani, Zone Chairperson Anupam Handa, Dr Bina Singh, and Dr Himani Payal, along with club members Ruby, Shashi, Rajni, Madhuri, Poonam, Lata, Seema, and a large number of women.
