DEHRADUN, 14 Jul: In a major step towards improving urban hygiene and systemic efficiency, the Dehradun Municipal Corporation (Doon Nagar Nigam) has commenced the establishment of an Integrated Control and Command Centre (ICCC) aimed at strengthening its waste management operations. Developed with a focus on monitoring door-to-door waste collection and overseeing waste processing facilities, the ICCC is set to incorporate a real-time alert-based system for tracking collection vehicles and ensuring adherence to assigned routes and schedules.

Dehradun’s Municipal Commissioner, Namami Bansal has claimed that the centre will ensure a comprehensive real-time surveillance of vehicle movements, punctuality, route compliance, staff attendance, data analysis of waste collection, and the operational status of waste processing activities. She added that this high-tech facility is designed to bolster transparency, accountability, and overall efficiency within the municipal waste management framework.

Bansal also stated that the initiative is expected not only to upgrade cleanliness standards across the city but also to expedite the resolution of public grievances, thereby accelerating Dehradun’s transition towards becoming a cleaner, smarter, and sustainably managed urban centre.
