Aakrosh Rally to be held today in Doon against atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh

Markets to remain closed for half-day today

Dehradun, 9 Dec:  Various Hindutva organisations in Dehradun, supported by several social groups have announced that they will host an “Aakrosh Rally” tomorrow to protest against atrocities committed on Hindus in Bangladesh. The Doon Vyapar Mandal has announced a half-day market closure to participate in the march, scheduled to be held tomorrow morning.

It may be recalled that the rally coincides with International Human Rights Day and is part of a nationwide protest demanding protection for Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh. Prominent organisations, including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajrang Dal, BJP Yuva Morcha, BJP Mahila Morcha, Tibetan Society, the Radhaswamis, the Nirankari Society, Ex-Servicemen’s Organisation, Udyog Vyapar Pratinidhi Mandal, Jain Society, Punjabi Sabha, Sikh Society, Agrawal Sabha, Vaishya Sabha, Brahmin Sabha, and Kshetriya Sabha have lent their support to the Aakrosh Rally tomorrow and they all are expected to participate in the rally.

The march will commence at Rangers’ Ground and conclude with the submission of a memorandum to the District Magistrate at the District Collectorate. In view of the proposed rally, the district administration has altered traffic routes to accommodate the rally.

SSP Ajai Singh stated that a “zero zone” has been declared along the rally route till noon but the traffic will be allowed on the rally route after the rally. He also shared that the organisers have been advised to maintain peace and adhere to guidelines during the event.

The Aakrosh Rally underscores solidarity and raises awareness about the plight of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh, as demonstrators have given a call for decisive action on the issue.
