Almora, 19 Nov: Shachi Sharma, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Almora, organised a legal awareness camp on the occasion of “World Day for the Prevention of and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Violence” at Government Inter College, Mergaon, located in a remote area.
The camp began with singing of the NALSA theme song, ‘Ek Muthi Aasman Chalana’. Saraswati Vandana and a welcome song were presented by the students of the school. A street play was presented on the topic of prevention and treatment of child sexual exploitation, abuse and violence.
The students present at the camp were provided information by the Secretary, DLSA, about the Child Protection Act, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO Act, 2012), harmful effects of child sexual abuse, treatment and rehabilitation, good touch-bad touch, NALSA helpline number 15100, Child Helpline number- 1098, Police helpline number 112 and National Lok Adalat to be held on 13 December 2025, etc. Pamphlets were distributed on these subjects.
