Dehradun, 6 Jan: BJP today claimed that BJP is aiming for a century of victories in the civic polls on the basis of development and public welfare ensured by the BJP Government. BJP State Spokesman Suresh Joshi today addressed a press conference at the party’s state headquarters here, today, claiming that the party would make the people aware of the achievements of the state and the Centre during the campaign for the municipal elections.

Joshi said it is the endeavour of the party to share with the people the works and achievements of the state government, and the development work done with the cooperation of the central government. For this, the party is reaching out to the people with all the work and development done in local bodies, municipal corporations or municipalities and the Nagar Panchayats.

The BJP spokesman also said that, apart from informing the people about the achievements, the party leaders will also share the future plans regarding development and the vision for the ULBs and the people. He asserted that, on the other hand, opposition parties are trying to block every move or initiative of the BJP Government taken on development. He reminded that, when Congress was in power at the Centre, it had almost ended the budget provisions for Uttarakhand. Now, again, Uttarakhand is moving ahead on the path of development with the help of the Centre. But the Congress is spreading negativity even regarding this. He asserted that the public has understood the intentions of the Congress and is well aware that only BJP can develop this state well, can take the state forward and can solve the problems.

Joshi claimed that it has been the BJP which has taken care of the poor families living in slums. The BJP Government has come up with ordinances to ensure that the poor families in the slums are not rendered homeless. He also claimed Dhami government has ensured maximum employment after the formation of the state. Dhami has given a record 19 thousand jobs, ensuring free and fair competition by implementing the strictest anti-copying law. He accused the Opposition leaders of trying to instigate the people on the issue of employment by spreading confusion and lies. He also claimed that the Opposition parties try to block every recruitment process by approaching the courts and claiming irregularities without any basis.

Joshi accused the Congress of not accepting the fact that Sanatan culture and traditions are the way of life for people in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. He alleged that Congress is working hard on the strategy of dividing society into castes, classes and sects. While, on the one hand, the BJP Government established a Sanskrit University, a Medical University in the state and works for the betterment of entire society by improving all the institutions in the field of education, the Congress on, the other hand, promises to set up a Muslim University.

Joshi also claimed that the BJP is receiving very positive feedback from across the state. The people are happy with the way the BJP Chief Minister is working day and night for the development of this state. BJP is fully confident of winning almost 100 percent seats in the civic polls and it would score a century on the civic body presidents’ posts, along with winning most of the ward member seats.

In response to a question about Congress leaders joining the BJP, Joshi claimed that the Congress leaders have joined the party influenced by the BJP’s ideology and leadership. The Congress has a tendency to not look in the mirror. Because everyone knows that the Congress party has become a party of only a few individuals, a party of a few families. There is no one to care in the party about the people who work or who want to take accountability towards the public within the party. Senior Congress leaders are leaving the party after being disappointed with the deeds and working style of the Congress leaders.

During the press conference, State Co-Media In-charge Rajendra Negi, State Spokespersons Honey Pathak and Satyaveer Chauhan were also present along with Joshi.
