Dehradun, 2 Sep: The Congress leaders today sat on a dharna outside the main gate of the assembly building, demanding a CBI inquiry into the irregularities in recruitments in various departments including the assembly secretariat. The dharna was led by PCC Chief Karan Mahra, and during the dharna, the Congress leaders and workers also raised slogans against the government.
At the same time, former state president of Congress Pritam Singh demanded that instead of vigilance, the government order a CBI inquiry into the allegations. He also claimed that the issue of creation of new districts has been brought by the government to divert the public attention from the scams. Singh
reminded that he was the Home Minister in 2015 when there had been alleged irregularities in recruitment of police sub inspectors. Even then he would welcome a CBI inquiry into the recruitments and felt that the guilty be punished.
Questioning the announcement of creation of new districts, Singh reminded that in the previous BJP Government, the then CM had announced creation of new Gairsain Commissionerate but how could it be possible without first making Gairsain a district, he asked. How could the commissioner be made to sit there without DM and SSP being posted there. Congress Spokesperson Garima Mahra Dasauni claimed while addressing the media that there had been fraud on the appointments made in various departments of the state.
