Ritu Khanduri

In his letter to the Speaker of State Assembly Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, the CM has mentioned that she would be aware of the allegations of irregularities in certain appointments in the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat viral on the social media, print media, electronic media, etc., in past few days. He added that the Legislative Assembly was a dignified autonomous constitutional institution and maintaining the dignity of this institution was the top priority of everyone concerned.

Credibility in question? Prem Chand Aggarwal: Former Speaker

In view of the dignity, purity and sentiments of the people of Uttarakhand and in particular those aspiring to be appointed in the state services or the state assembly secretariat, it would be appropriate to consider that in respect of appointments made in the Legislative Assembly Secretariat, in relation to which disputes had arisen, a high level inquiry ought to be conducted and in case of any irregularity found during the investigation, all such irregular appointments ought to be cancelled.

The CM has further urged the Speaker to make provision for fair and transparent appointments in the Legislative Assembly Secretariat in future so that there was no possibility of irregularity in appointments there. He also reminded the Speaker that steps were being taken by the State Government to conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations of irregularities in the appointments made through the UKSSSC and take strict action against the guilty.
