He, in his message, has said that ADIP Scheme is proving a ‘Sanjeevani’ for the children of economically weaker sections of Uttarakhand state. He said that the families of children whose speech and hearing are impaired since birth can contact the ENT deptt. of the Hospital to take the advantage of the ADIP Scheme. Gangoh, Tehsil Nakur, Saharanpur, was suffering from deafness and dumbness since birth. The parents of the child went to many hospitals but couldn’t get any help because firstly, the required treatment was not available as those hospitals lacked the ENT expertise necessary for doing this Cochlear Implant. Secondly, even if the required treatment was available, treatment at these hospitals was costing at least Ten Lakhs Rupees. Eventually the parents came to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital’s ENT deptt. for treatment. A successful Cochlear Implant surgery of the little girl was carried out by ENT deptt.’s Dr. (Col.) V.P.
