Dehradun, 13 Aug: Union Transport and National Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari today announced the approval of Rs 297.37 crore under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) for the widening and strengthening of nine roads in Uttarakhand, covering a total length of 235.42 kilometres. The decision marks a significant boost to road connectivity and infrastructure development in Uttarakhand. This information was shared by Gadkari on his X Account.
In response, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his gratitude to the Union Minister for the sanction, stating on his X account that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the commitment of the Union Minister, Uttarakhand is consistently setting new benchmarks in connectivity. He remarked that the approval will further strengthen road links across the state, making travel in mountainous regions smoother and safer, while also giving fresh impetus to tourism, trade and the local economy.
Dhami added that the people of Uttarakhand are thankful for the continuous support of the central government in accelerating the state’s development journey, and this latest sanction will play a vital role in enhancing both infrastructure and economic opportunities in Uttarakhand.
In addition, Haridwar MP and former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has also expressed gratitude towards PM Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for the approval.
