Dehradun, 18 Jul: The inaugural event of the 7-day faculty induction programme, Guru Dakshta 2024, for the new faculty members of Uttaranchal University was held at the SALS Seminar Hall, here, today. It was organised by the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) in collaboration with IQAC & ERP Cell of Uttaranchal University.
Guru Dakshta is designed to familiarise the faculty members with university rules and regulations, curriculum development, teaching-learning methodology, assessment and evaluation, and research reflected in the Vision and Mission of the University.
The FIP was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Prof Dr Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University, along with the Deans and Directors of the different faculties with the auspicious lighting of the lamp followed by Kulgeet.
Prof Dr Dharam Buddhi shared his insights on the FIP and expressed his expectations from the faculty members emphasising the need for imparting quality education that required incessant and in-depth learning and research. Dr Buddhi emphasised that to be an integral component of a NAAC A + university, the only private university in the state of Uttarakhand, the new teachers should not compromise on quality and consistency.
Dr Pradeep Suri, Dean of Academic Affairs, addressed the inductees and motivated them to always aim for the 4 rules for the teachers, to teach, research, mentor, preach, and practice.
Dr Ajai Singh, Dean of Research, stated that research is the backbone for academic excellence and welcomed the new inductees to approach the Research division to enhance their research and technical skills.
Er Rajesh Deorari, Director, IQAC, emphasised that quality education through innovation and creation is the way ahead. The formal vote of thanks was proposed by Prof Dr Anil Kumar Dixit, Head, the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC)
Over 35 new faculty members attended the FIP inaugural. The event was moderated by Dr Lakshmi Priya Vinjamuri, Associate Professor, Uttaranchal University, and attended by Prof Sumit Chowdhary, Director, UIT, Prof Mahipal Singh, Dean, SOA, Dr Manish Badoni, Head, Uttaranchal School of Hospitality Management, Dr Ramveer Tawar, Chief Librarian, HoD of various departments and technical & administrative staff of IQAC, ERP and IT Cell. The event concluded with the National Anthem.
