International Peace Walk held on World Human Rights Day

DEHRADUN, 11 Dec: Peace and Tolerance Through Humanity, A Campaign Kashmir to Kanyakumari was the theme espoused by the walk held at Lucknow.
Youth for Human Right India joined the world community to walk for peace and tolerance on the occasion of World human rights Day and represented India in the world celebrations. On 10th December, 2018, the International walk was organized at 1090 crossing and scores of people assembled from all walks of life. The event began at 10:00 AM in the morning at 1090 Crossing and participants walked towards Kalidas Marg and back to 1090 crossing. All the students of universities, colleges, schools, NCC Battalions, Clubs, and Parents, and other communities joined this exceptional initiative to create awareness among the masses to build peace, tolerance and use their human rights in doing so, as per United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Dr. Arjumand Zaidi was the organizer of the walk and is also National President of this organization. She is a veteran social worker, world peace Activist, and an eminent educationist who took this initiative to help make India crime and corruption free. Her campaign is “Peace and tolerance through human rights – Kashmir to Kanyakumari”. Through her efforts she is contributing to society by making a difference. Speaking on this occasion Dr.Zaidi appealed to the crowd to come forward and join this mission to make our country crime and corruption free so that peace and tolerance can be found nationwide. In her address to the participants she congratulated all the principals of schools along with the children, leaders of the participating organizations and the government officials for their support for making this event a grand success. She encouraged the children to be bold and truthful and not to violate each other’s human rights rather to support and safeguard each other’s Rights. She also said, “This is the matter of great pride that many media persons joined this mission and came on the same platform irrespective of their brands.” She then thanked everyone universally for their support.
St. Xavier’s Convent School and Holy Vision International sponsored and supported this event and initiative. These organizations are and have been working for the education and upliftment of the poor since last fifteen years.
The event was inaugurated by the Minister of State Swati Singh. Speaking on the Occasion, she motivated the participants and praised the noble initiative by Dr. Zaidi and her Team. She also appreciated the efforts made by the organization Youth for human rights India and encouraged them to carry on and take forward this great enterprise.
Many dignitaries from the city participated and supported the spirit of the event.
Navyug Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Pioneer Montessori, New Bal Bharti School, Brain Convent School, Integral University and many other Organizations like ,3UP NCC Naval, 5UP NCC Air base & NCC Army Battalions, and several fitness enthusiasts actively participated in the event.
After the Walk, groups presented attractive showcases of talent accompanied by patriotic songs.
Making the event more meaningful “Student’s Peace Awards” were given to two participants from each group who had been socially more active. In the end participation certificates and refreshments were distributed among the participants.
