Dehradun, 31 Aug: A delegation of Journalists Union of Uttarakhand, one of the premier trade union of journalists in the state called on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today at his residence. On this occasion, the delegation invited Chief Minister Dhami as the Chief Guest for the National Convention of Indian Journalists Union (IJU) to be held on 14th and 15th November. The delegation informed the Chief Minister that eminent journalists from twenty-four states across the country will participate in the said convention.
The delegation welcomed the announcement of an additional increase of Rs 5 crores in the Journalists Welfare Fund and life insurance of all journalists under social security by the Chief Minister and thanked him for this measure. The delegation included IJU National Secretary Jaisingh Rawat, Journalists Union State President Umashankar Praveen Mehta, State General Secretary Girish Pant, State Vice President SP Uniyal, Union District President Mohammad Shahnajar and District General Secretary Moolchand Shirshwal.
