DEHRADUN, 31 Jan: Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat participated in the state-level programme, “Balika Panchayat”, under the Samagra Shiksha Campaign organised at Kisan Bhawan, here, on Thursday. While addressing the programme, the Chief Minister said that, through the Balika Panchayat, children got the opportunity to live together and it was a good opportunity to understand the people around them and the society.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister announced a memory competition as well as competition on writing their memoirs for all the students participating in Balika Panchayat and the winner will be awarded a prize of Rs 100 by the Chief Minister. He also sought suggestions from the students. Chief Minister instructed the officers that the state’s top 10 students should be taken on educational trips to Wagha Border and other such institutions. He said there was need for quality education. At the same time, every district headquarters should have a library where the literature of Uttarakhand is available.
The Chief Minister also visited and evaluated the Mobile Smart Class and Mobile Lab. He said that through the medium of higher and secondary education, separate super-100 students (boys/girls) were being trained to prepare for the upcoming examinations.
Present on the occasion were Secretary, Education, Dr Bhupinder Kaur Aulakh and officers of the Education Department.
