DEHRADUN, 12 Oct: Colonel (Retd) Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Member of Parliament, visited his alma mater, Indian Military Academy to deliver a guest lecture, to motivate the Gentlemen Cadets. Col Rathore made history at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games by winning the rifle double trap silver—India’s first ever individual silver medal at the Olympics. After taking voluntary retirement from the army, the colonel joined the BJP and is presently a sitting Member of Parliament.
He is a graduate of the 77th Course of NDA at IMA. He was the Sword of Honor for the best all-round Gentleman Cadet.
He was also the recipient of the Sikh Regiment Gold Medal, awarded to the best sportsman of the course. Col Rathore addressed the Gentlemen Cadets at IMA on 11 Oct. He shared his experiences and success in the field of sports and military life so as to motivate the cadets as well as propel them to become better military leaders in the future. His experience in the Army and sports will definitely help the Gentlemen cadets to reach the pinnacle of their desired field.
