This four-day training programme will also be organised at Tanakpur in Champawat district. The training programme will be conducted in multiple batches. Each batch will have 25 participants. This programme aims to prepare a total of 650 guides more professional and efficient.
Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said, “In recent years, the enthusiasm of tourists has increased for adventure tourism, in which river rafting is the main attraction. Considering their safety as paramount, the enthusiasm of tourists should remain the same. We have taken this initiative. It is commendable to cooperate with an organisation like the Red Cross Society involved in humanitarian work since the time of the World War. This initiative will increase the interest of tourists from the country and abroad towards river rafting in the state.
