Haridwar, 23 Oct: Swami Swaroopananda, the Global Head (Worldwide) of Chinmaya Mission visited Chinmaya Degree College, here, for the first time ever.
The Swami was welcomed with a Paoornakumbha at the entrance of the academic block by Dr PK Sharma, Ragini, Ashi and Anjali Yadav.
Swami Swaroopananda, Brahamchari Darshan, Swami Yatishwarananda, Brahamacharini Satya, Brahamacharini Sudipti, Secretary Prof Indu Mehrotra and Principal Dr Alok Agarwal jointly inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Saraswati Vandana was presented by college students Ashi, Anjali, Vipra, Surabhi, Jyoti, Anushka and Prachi.
A play based on the lives of Goswami Tulsidas and Surdas was presented by the students. Tanisha and group presented the bhajan, Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram, which captivated everyone’s heart.
On this occasion, Principal of the college, Dr Alok Agarwal said that the Swami’s leadership and guidance would help the college to reach an excellent position in the field of higher education. His arrival had infused an energy among the members of the college family and the path has been paved with his blessings.
Chairman Colonel Rakesh Sachdeva (Retd) said, “The Guru tradition is our heritage and the Indian knowledge system is a preserved system through which knowledge is transferred from one generation to the next.”
Swami Swaroopananda, while addressing everyone, said, “We should improve ourselves in every situation with the power of our mind.”
At the end of the programme, Dr Madhu Sharma expressed gratitude to all the guests present.
