Dehradun, 14 Jul: In a step towards strengthening global academic standards and promoting English language proficiency among its stakeholders, Uttaranchal University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cambridge University Press & Assessment, UK, here, today. This partnership officially designates Uttaranchal University as a Cambridge English Educational Partner, marking the beginning of a meaningful and future-ready collaboration.
Present was Jitender Joshi, President of the University, who extended a warm welcome to Saurabh Tiwari, Regional Sales Manager, and Manish Kumar Varshney, Territory Sales Manager, Cambridge University Press & Assessment. The event commenced with a welcome address by Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar, Director, School of Liberal Arts.
During the ceremony, Saurabh Tiwari outlined the core objectives and benefits of this collaboration, emphasising the role of globally recognised English qualifications in shaping student careers. The MoU was formally signed by Dr Anuj Kumar Rana, Registrar of Uttaranchal University, and Saurabh Tiwari, solidifying the partnership.
Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor, shared his visionary insights on the importance of English proficiency in today’s global education and employment landscape. Ankita Joshi, Vice President of the University, congratulated the Cambridge team for extending their support and appreciated the efforts of Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar for being instrumental in facilitating the collaboration.
TK Arunachalam, Country Head – South Asia said, “As Cambridge English Educational Partner, the Uttaranchal University will now offer high-quality English language learning programmes and preparation support for Cambridge English Qualifications. A key offering under this collaboration is the ‘Upskill’ course, designed to enhance practical English communication skills.”
The course will culminate in certification aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)—recognised by leading multinational companies and institutions worldwide—and will also support students in preparing for international exams such as IELTS and TOEFL.
The MoU signing marks a major milestone in Uttaranchal University’s commitment to enhancing the global readiness and communication skills of its students. Through this collaboration, the university aims to foster a supportive and aspirational academic environment that empowers students to compete and succeed at the international level.
