Uttaranchal Varisty law college organises IIIrd Youth Parliament

DEHRADUN, 26 Apr: The third edition of Youth Parliament ‘Shabdarth 3.O’ was organised by the Law College Dehradun of Uttaranchal University on Saturday. Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma (Kau) was the Chief Guest on this occasion while the programme was presided over by the president of the University Jitendra Joshi. More than 200 young participants from across the state participated in the Youth Parliament.
Dean Rajesh Bahuguna told that five committees were formed in this Youth Parliament organized at the state level. The strategic rivalry of America, China and India was discussed in the first United Nations General Assembly. The agenda of the meeting of All India political parties was caste-based census and reservation. The main agenda of the Uttarakhand Assembly was the increasing religious and administrative tension in the state and UCC.
The participants strongly represented their countries at the international level and the roles assigned to them at the national and state levels. Debating the current conduct of the America and China, the participants said that their rivalry is taking the world towards global anarchy. There was a heated debate on provisions like live-in of UCC and the opposition called it against the culture of the hills.
Impressed by the impressive presentation of the Youth parliamentarians and MLAs, the Raipur MLA said that where the youth gather, the future begins. He said that the Youth Parliament empowers young leaders to move forward, cooperate and lead the change for a brighter future. He described the level of the Youth Parliament as top class and an exemplary step by the Law College Dehradun. Umesh Sharma (Kau) shared special experiences of his political life with the Youth parliamentarians. He said that he got immense satisfaction and love while representing the public in various positions from Panchayat member to MLA.
In his address, president of the University, Jitendra Joshi said that the youth are full of energy. The foundation of healthy politics is laid in the students participating in the Youth Parliament. He said that Uttaranchal University is organizing a national as well as a state level Youth Parliament once a year.
The jury honoured Mayank Kumar, Jahan Mukherjee, Mandeep Yadav, Sonakshi Sharma and Yashasvi Gupta as the best delegates and Anshika, Aryan Kansal, Abhay Haran, Gurleen and Ashi Thapliyal with High Commendation Award while Harabhinandan, Daksh Sharma, Ojaswani and Gurmjeet Kaur with Special Mention Award. Sapience School of Herbertpur Dehradun was awarded with best delegation award. On this occasion Executive Director of University Abhishek Joshi, Principal Poonam Rawat, Bhawna Arora, Amalendu Mishra, Akshay Kumar, Khaliq Ahmed and Prabhat Kumar along with a large number of students were present.
