Dehradun, 16 Apr: At the 17th All India Kavi Sammelan held at Graphic Era on Monday, the poets targeted politicians with their compositions. Poetry of satire and humour left the audience spellbound. The famous poet, Nawaz Devbandi, expressed the pain of migration in Uttarakhand in such a way that the whole Pandal thundered with applause. On this occasion, famous poet Vineet Chauhan was honoured with the prestigious Graphic Era Kavya Gaurav Samman.
The All India Kavi Sammelan held in the Graphic Era Deemed University premises spread many colours of humor and heroism. Mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’, Dr Kamal Ghanshala and the poets inaugurated the Kavi Sammelan by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Vineet Chauhan, a famous comic poet received much applause for his poems on the Pulwama attack and surgical strike. His poem, “Lo hamane dum seedhee kar dee us kaayar kroor padosee kee, jo ulajh raha tha aad liye us cheenee billee mausee kee, baarah din mein baarah mirage jaakar sab marj mita aaye, jo khoon gira pulwama mein usaka sab karj chuka aaye..”, was highly appreciated. He also conveyed the bravery of Wing Commander Abhinandan through his words, “Sooraj ko kaid rakha kuchh pal, us paagal se andhiyaare ne, do din mein hee haar maan lee jhukakar chaand-sitaare ne, vo chakravyooh ke beech ghira, vo Abhimanyoo sa bana raha….”
Famous satirical poet Shambhu Shikhar connected himself directly with the young audience with his poetic creation – Mefil mein kabhee sisakiyaan achchhee nahin lagatee, har vakt sanam hichakiyaan achchhee nahin lagatee, college mein jab se yaar apana ishk chala hai, us din se hamein chhuttiyaan achchhee nahin lagatee….”
Famous poet Nawaz Deobandi wrote down the pain of migration in his composition – “O shahar jaane vaale ye boodhe shazar (tree) na bech, mumakin hai lautana pade, gaanv ka ghar na bech…”
He also presented many of his compositions at the request of the audience like, “Ye duniyaan mauhabbat ko mauhabb nahin detee, inaam badee cheez hai, keemat nahin detee, dene ko to de sakata hoon main bhee use gaalee, lekin meree tahajeeb ijaajat nahin detee….”
Dr Praveen Shukl, famous for his compositions in the field of serious poetry, left the audience laughing at his jokes as he anchored the Kavi sammelan. Dr Shukl also targeted the issue of corruption. His composition on Jinh and corruption were much liked – “Mainne jin se kaha yadi sambhav ho to Bharat se bhrashtaachaar bhaga do, jin bola main vaapas botal mein ghus raha hoon tum dhakkan laga do…. ”
He also alerted the watchman through his words, Jo hain gaddaar un par aap gole daagate rahiye, jo aatankee bhage hain unake peechhe bhaagate rahiye, koee ghusapaithee ghar mein kaheen visphot na kar de, suno bankar ke chowkdaar har pal jaagate rahiye….”
Sudeep Bhola too was much appreciated and liked for his compositions. He especially wrote the song on the heinous crime of rape in Indore and expressed deep sorrow through his words, “Gauraya ne ab baagon mein aana chhod diya hai, koyaliya ne bhee dahashat mein gaana chhod diya hai, vahashee banakar ghoom rahe hain aaj chaman mein bhaunre, dar ke maare kaliyon ne muskaana chhod diya hai….
On this occasion, Dr Kamal Ghanshala, President of Graphic Era Group, and Chief Patron RC Ghanshala presented a Rs 1 lakh cash prize and a citation to poet Vineet Chauhan while honouring him the Graphic Era Kavya Gaurav Samman. Earlier, famous poets like Dr Gopal Das Neeraj, Dr Santoshanand, Dr Om Prakash Aditya, Dr Hariyom Panwar, Dr Ashok Chakradhar, Surendra Sharma, Kunwar Bechain, Munnawar Rana, Dr Kumar Vishwas, Dr Pravin Shukl, Shailesh Loda and Rahat Indori have received the award. The Kavi Sammelan was attended by dignitaries of the city, university officials, teachers, alumni and students.
