Dehradun, 24 Dec: The Indian Cambridge School celebrated ‘Christmas’ and ‘New Year’ on 19 December.
The celebration took place in the school premises. The Principal, Rachana Srivastava, warmly welcomed and extended Christmas and New Year greetings to the staff and students. It was the last assembly for the session 2020. All the norms of Covid-19 were followed, maintaining social distancing. Only class X and XII students and teachers were present, while other students joined virtually.
Then ‘cultural programme’ started with prayers to the Almighty. After the prayers, Hindi teacher Raj Srivastava addressed the school and described the life and works of Jesus Christ.
Ibrahim and Irtiqua, students of class X, also expressed their views on Jesus and his crucifixion.
This was followed by a skit performed by class X. A poem was also recited by Ishika of class X.
After the students’ performances, the academic co-coordinator Rubina Siddiqui addressed the gathering, wishing everyone a ‘Merry Christmas’ and Happy New Year. She also motivated students to work hard to excel in the boards.
After that, the Principal called ‘Santa’ and the school choir sang Christmas Carols. Sweets were distributed by ‘Santa’. The programme culminated with singing of the ‘National Anthem’.
